This was my second time here in less than a month. The restaurant is clean and welcoming. You pay at the front when you come in and you can seat yourself wherever you want. There are three buffet stations with more choices than I have experienced at most Chinese buffets. We particularly enjoyed the salmon, crab legs, sweet shrimp, spicy fried chicken and the peanut butter chicken - to name a few of the available buffet choices. I also noticed that the food was all spiced and flavored differently which is a huge plus at a buffet! We will definitely be coming back again!

Happened upon New Hong Kong Buffet while on vacation. We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and food quality. They also had some items we have not had at other Chinese buffets such as peanut butter chicken, PP chicken, and honey chicken. All the items were cooked just right--nothing was dry or crusty. The Hot and sour soup was especially flavorful as was their Japanese chicken. Seating and beverages are self serve which is different from other Chinese buffets we have been to. Regardless we really enjoyed the food and decided to stop there on our way home from vacation as well. Again we were very pleased with the food. Definitely recommend it.

We were excited to check this place out but the excitement quickly faded once we tried the food. There were a couple of items that were okay but for the most part everything either tasted really weird, awful or was very dry. The restaurant seemed clean and there was plenty of customers but the staff seemed uninterested in clearing our dirty plates.

The place is decently filled with customers. The staff is very nice and decor is above average, but not phenomenal. The food is average compared to other Chinese restaurants I've tried, but the fried cod is amazing. The Dumplings are amazing too.

It's not the worst Chinese food in Elk River but there isn't much in the way of competition. The steamed (white) rice is almost always crunchy on the top from sitting out instead of in a rice cooker and I swear they must add oil to it?!?! Not sure why but ick. They have a decent selection of foods and while some are tasty (sesame chicken, kung pow) others are bland (chicken with broccoli, mongolian beef). The staff usually pick up plates quickly, drinks are self serve. The ice cream is hit or miss- sometimes it has a funny taste (leads me to believe the machine isn't always clean) other times the kids think it tastes fine.

I was very surprised by the quality of the food. I had broccoli beef and it was probably the best I have ever had from a Chinese restaurant.

Best Chinese food ever. I've been coming here since I was literally a little girl and have tried other places but none match this place. It's delicious, when I'm by myself I get takeout which they price by weight. The best part about this place is that it's a buffet and I can eat as much as I want! The Walnut shrimp as well as the chicken and broccoli are by far the best things there. Try it! You'll love it!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
